On Tuesday 16 April 2024, the EU SME Centre was invited to take part in the Czech Business Afternoon, an event organised by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing.
The event gathered representatives from the Czech business community with the aim of offering insights into the Czech economic presence in China and evaluating the evolving dynamics of the Chinese market.
The business event was introduced by the speeches of Mr. Richard Hlavatý, Director of the Non-European Countries Department of Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade and Mr. František Chaloupecký, Vice President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic.
Following these keynote speeches, Ms. Violet Wang from the CCPIT Commercial Legal Service Center delved into the support mechanisms available to Czech companies navigating business disputes in China.
Subsequently, the EU SME Centre took the floor to elaborate on its role in assisting European SMEs as they enter the Chinese market. Mr. Liam Jia, the Centre’s Team Lead, provided a comprehensive overview of its activities, emphasising the technical assistance tailored to Czech enterprises operating in China. He underscored the Centre’s commitment to addressing the concerns of Czech businesses and outlined the key sectors seeking support from the organisation.
Wrapping up the event was Mr. Stefan Bernhart, Vice-President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, who provided an analysis of the current market landscape and future prospects for EU companies operating in China.
The Czech Business Afternoon served as a valuable platform for fostering dialogue, sharing expertise, and strengthening partnerships between Czech and Chinese businesses.
