Today it maintains three sales offices located in Xi’an, Guangzhou and Shanghai. Bernard Controls is one of the leaders in the nuclear power equipment market in China.
Mr. Lucien Bernard set up a manufacturing shop for electric motors at the end of 1936. In 1949, a limited company was founded, specialising in the design and manufacturing of electric actuators. The company was originally named L. Bernard in 1981. At that time, Mr. Etienne Bernard was nominated as Chief Executive Officer.
In 2010, the company changed its name to Bernard Controls, which was meant to represent a new start with a focus on technical innovation and expansion. The new name reflects the company’s international dimension and highlights its refined development strategy.
Bernard Controls has strong competence in producing electric actuators in several sectors: Nuclear, water, industries, thermal, oil and gas. The products include quarter-turn actuators, multi-turn actuators, modulating valves, failsafes, special design products, controls and fieldbuses. The products are made to work in difficult and challenging environments (extreme temperatures, explosive & special atmospheres, corrosion, among others) and address the technical requirements of the most demanding industries.
Today, the company produces 40,000 actuators per year in three factories – two in France and the other in China. Bernard Controls Group includes nine subsidiaries in Europe, South Korea, Singapore, China and the US, three sales offices in the Middle-East, Russia and Thailand, as well as more than 30 distribution agents throughout the world.
