On 28 June 2023, EU SME Centre Team Lead Liam Jia delivered a keynote speech at the 18th China International SME Fair (CISMEF) and 2nd SME International Cooperation Summit (SMEICS). The topic of the keynote speech was “How Innovation and Specialisation Empower European SME Industrial Clusters in China”.
“In the EU and elsewhere, SMEs are a significant source of innovation and human creativity; they contribute to cultural diversity and quality of life. When EU SMEs go abroad, they also support prosperity and innovation in their host countries. They play a role in the diffusion of culture and people-to-people contacts”, said Liam Jia.
From 27 to 30 June 2023, the 18th China International SME Fair (CISMEF) and the 2nd SME International Cooperation Summit (SMEICS) were jointly hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), State Administration for Market Regulation, and People’s Government of Guangdong Province in Guangzhou, aiming to strengthen the international cooperation on SME development and promote inclusive, sustainable and healthy growth.
