Swedish and other European SMEs looking to enter or expand in the Chinese market face multiple challenges such as toughening competition from local companies, market entry barriers, and insufficient information. However, many of the pull-factors that historically have been attracting foreign SMEs to China still remain, and there are many opportunities for those companies that manage to successfully navigate the market.
In November, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China published a White Paper on Swedish and European SMEs in China in collaboration with the EU SME Centre. This publication includes interviews with multiple experts and renowned Swedish SMEs to give an overview of the current market climate in China and prospects for Swedish and European SMEs. The White Paper touches upon market opportunities and challenges, legal risks, access to financing, IP issues, outlook and more. The goal of this White Paper was to gather useful information and recommendations for SMEs looking to enter the Chinese market or to upgrade their operations.
We are pleased to invite SMEs on 14 December to a webinar during which the authors will present the key points and takeaways of the White Paper. Experts interviewed for the publication will also participate in the event and present their analysis and how their organisations work to support Swedish and European SMEs in the Chinese market.
The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session. This free online event in English is open to all SMEs from EU Member States and countries participating in the Single Market Programme.
