The British Chamber of Commerce in China and China-Britain Business Council are delighted to invite UK companies to join a half-day visit to Tianjin, where we are cooperating with the Dongjiang Free Trade Port Zone authorities to host a seminar introducing new business opportunities to UK attendees.
At the seminar we will look at opportunities for innovation via the FTZ platform, focusing on the specialist areas of the Dongjiang port zone: financial services, cross-border e-commerce, vehicle imports, transit trade and import sales. We very much encourage members in these fields, as well as anyone else keen to learn more and to make contacts in Tianjin, to join the visit. Transport by high-speed rail has been arranged and attendance at the seminar is free of charge. Please see the schedule below.
Tianjin Dongjiang Free Trade Port Zone (DFTP) was approved by the State Council on 31 August 2006. It is northern China’s main international shipping and logistics hub, and is being developed into a free trade port. Dongjiang port, located in the north-east of the Tianjin port, contains a terminal operation zone, a logistics processing zone and a comprehensive service zone. Each has a particular function and covers an area of 10 square kilometres. It is under special customs supervision and enjoys different policies from inland cities. Its 7,300 registered tenants include shipping and logistics (1,124), trade (3,115), financing and leasing (1,818) and commercial insurance (167) companies.
