While the China market presents numerous opportunities, its vast size, language barriers, and intricate market access and intellectual property (IP) regulations can initially appear daunting to SMEs. Against this backdrop, the China IP SME Helpdesk and the EU SME Centre, in collaboration with the Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILC), are organising a webinar to inform and assist European SMEs.
The purpose of the webinar will be to provide SMEs with key information on navigating China’s complex landscape confidently. This includes best practices for market entry, with an emphasis on the importance of conducting due diligence on Chinese partners and crafting a robust IP strategy. These measures ensure that businesses are secure and poised for success in the world’s second-largest economy.
The webinar will feature Mr. Bernardo Mendia, Secretary General of the Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mr. Mário Ferreira, Director for South China at AICEP Portugal Global, who will emphasise the support that the CCILC and AICEP provide to Portuguese SMEs in the Chinese market. Mr. Alessio Petino, Business Advisor at the EU SME Centre, and Mr. Charles Feng, Head of the International Business Development Department and Senior Partner at Tahota (Beijing) Law Firm, will guide Portuguese and other European SMEs on how to succeed in the complex Chinese market by offering both business and IP best practices.
