Douro Wine Export Business 2019

Enterprise Europe Network at AEP is working closely with its local stakeholder in the Northern region of the country, NERVIR, on the organization of the In Douro Wine Business 2019. By promoting B2B meetings between Porto and Douro wine producers and potential importers, the event is expected to help wine producers find new business partners abroad and to help importers discover new wines suited for their markets and portfolio.

AEP is working on attracting importers from countries where the EEN is active that may be interested in visiting the Region and discover new Douro and Port wines. All importers will have meetings with all producers participating at In Douro Wine Business.

NERVIR is working on encouraging producers to attend and covers the expenses regarding travels, transfers, lodging and meals for one representative of each company, in a “first come, first serve” basis.

This joint work is part of AEP strategy to work closely with its local stakeholders. Indeed, AEP represents a region –the North of the territory – where SMEs are not that strong on developing international partnerships and we need to reach out to them to show them how the Enterprise Europe Network can help them close this gap. And here lies the importance of stakeholders as NERVIR for their unique capability to talk to companies they meet about the Enterprise Europe Network and help crisscross the Northern region of the country, spreading the word about the Network and how can be a “how-to”resource for SMEs.

Thanks to the efforts of the Enterprise Europe Network, the previous event attracted 33 importers from 18 countries from three continents and several partnerships were achieved.

This year, In Douro Wine Export Business is scheduled to take place from 17th to 19th October In the city of Vila Real, Portugal.
