On Tuesday 1st December 2020, the EU SME Centre and China-Britain Business Council will be organizing a workshop on the recently announced Beijing Free Trade Zone (FTZ).
In September 2020, the State Council issued the “China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone Overall Plan”, laying the ground for the establishment of a FTZ in Beijing. The services and high-tech sectors are expected to be two of the main pillars of the Beijing Free Trade Zone, which will span across 8 districts in Beijing. A series of preferential policies to attract and support foreign investors will also be introduced, including facilitations for the entry-exit of foreign citizens.
In order to help the European business community to gain a deeper understanding of the newly announced Beijing FTZ, the EU SME Centre and the China-Britain Business Council have invited two officials from the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau and the Beijing Public Security Bureau to present and share their insights on:
- The planning and development of the Beijing FTZ, including its strategic pillars and priorities
- The preferential policies to support foreign investors and businesses, as well as their impact
- The facilitations for the entry-exit of foreign citizens.
This meeting will be conducted in Chinese with simultaneous translation available (remote through your mobile phone, please kindly bring your earplugs).
