Advocacy News: Roundtable with Shenzhen Investment Promotion Bureau and Hetao Development Bureau

6 January 2025

The roundtable at Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone on 13 November 2024 provided EU SMEs with an exceptional platform for advocacy and collaboration. The event enabled European SMEs to engage directly with key stakeholders, including leaders from the Shenzhen Investment Promotion Bureau, Futian District Government, and Hetao Development Bureau. Participating SMEs gained valuable insights into Hetao’s role as a national pilot zone for cross-border data transfer and its innovative practices, such as the data trading platform and special policy white lists.

The event also offered updates on foreign investment policies, economic trends, and opportunities for practical experience sharing on compliance with cross-border data transfer regulations. By facilitating dialogue with policymakers and industry experts, the roundtable put forward Hetao’s position as a strategic hub for SMEs seeking to navigate regulatory challenges, leverage Shenzhen’s dynamic business environment, and advocate for streamlined cross-border collaboration within the Greater Bay Area.
