On 13 February 2025, SME Forum South China Chapter Chair Daisy Yang and Vice Chair Danica Mai, and Business and Government Affairs Manager Lynn Wu visited Franke Foodservice Systems (China) Ltd. in Jiangmen. They met with Director Zhao Xiaobin and Deputy Director Gan Yanyan of the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangmen.
During the meeting, Lynn Wu provided an overview of the European Chamber and the EU SME Centre. This was followed by a dynamic discussion on the opportunities and challenges for foreign companies investing in Jiangmen. Director Zhao Xiaobin shared insights into Jiangmen’s business environment and competitive advantages, while the Operations Director of Franke highlighted the supportive policies and conveniences that facilitated the company’s establishment of a large-scale factory in the city. Daisy Yang also shared perspectives on European companies’ current business projects in China, emphasising the European SME landscape and the Advocacy Platform’s role in providing first-hand business insights to EU governments and enterprises.
Concluding the meeting, Director Zhao Xiaobin expressed interest in welcoming suitable European companies to visit Jiangmen to explore potential investment opportunities. He also conveyed a willingness to visit Guangzhou and Shenzhen to participate in the Chamber’s events. Both sides identified potential areas for collaboration and expressed enthusiasm for further engagement.
