On 10 January 2025, as part of the advocacy actions of the EU SME Centre Phase IV, European Chamber Business and Government Affairs Manager Lynn Wu and Events Manager Jingqian Mo visited the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangzhou Committee (CCPIT GZ). The meeting focused on exploring potential collaboration between the European Chamber and CCPIT GZ in 2025, particularly regarding events aimed at supporting European SMEs.
During the discussion, Guo Haijian, Director of the Trade and Investment Promotion Department, outlined CCPIT’s priorities for 2025. These include supporting Guangzhou companies in expanding globally through initiatives such as the “Guangdong Trade Global” project. Additionally, CCPIT GZ is intensively preparing for key events, including the Canton Fair in Guangzhou in April 2025 and the World Expo in Osaka, Japan, in June 2025. In the foreign investment sector, they plan to continue advancing projects like “Foreign Businesses Coming to Guangzhou,” “Foreign Enterprise Service Task Force,” and the “China-Netherlands Mechanism.”
Lynn shared the European Chamber’s expectations for 2025, emphasizing the importance of strengthening communication and cooperation through initiatives such as the “China-Europe SME Government Dialogue,” “Policy Consultation, Interpretation, and Implementation Follow-up for Foreign Enterprises,” and “China-Europe Business Themed Seminars and Corporate Visits.”
Both sides agreed that regular communication is essential for sharing information and fostering collaboration, ultimately benefiting both Chinese and European companies.
