Successful Workshop on Exporting Services to China Held in Tallinn with Enterprise Estonia

1 November 2018, Tallinn – The EU SME Centre and Enterprise Estonia (EAS) successfully organised a workshop discussing how to export services to China, a topic that many European SMEs are still not very familiar with.

During the workshop, the EU SME Centre expert Marco Gasparroni shared the updates on the Chinese government’s policies related to imported service sectors, and explained how the government categories service sectors into the encouraged, restricted and prohibited for import.

To help the participants gain a clearer vision on how to enter the Chinese market, Marco also presented on the market entry routes as well as different regulations, standards and taxes. Moreover, he explained the IP transfer strategies to adopt in order to protect the IP Rights in China and concluded with case studies on New Balance and on Exprivia.

In addition, participants also learned further information from other speakers. Rafael Jimenez and Kai Kreos from the Enterprise Estonia introduced a few case studies on exporting services to China and opportunities for Estonian companies to China. Magnus Lepsalu from Partner at Baltic Logistika shared the company’s real-life experience in exporting logistics services to China. Guoyu Du from UKDE discussed blockchain and cryptocurrencies in China.
