Centre Advocacy Expert Participates in the Belt and Road Initiative and the Opportunities for European Businesses Event

On April 9th, the European Chamber and the EU SME Centre participated in the event “Challenges and Investment Opportunities for Nordic Companies along the Belt and Road”, organised by the Danish Chamber of Commerce and the Nordic Chambers. 

 
European Chamber President Mats Harborn gave an overview of the rationale behind the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the developments both in China and globally leading to the establishment of the Initiative, as well as some of the main issues to take into account as European businesses when approaching the BRI. Director of Government Affairs and EU SME expert Xavier Sans Powell talked about the various perceptions of the BRI in European policy circles and explained the challenges and opportunities European enterprises and SMEs could encounter along the BRI. Finally, Ms. Gu Xue, Manager of the Business Development Division at CCCC International presented the activities of the company along the BRI and the opportunities for cooperation with Nordic countries.
