The Network Access Licence (NAL) is a conformity requirement that applies to products needing to communicate on China’s public telecom network. The NAL applies to terminal equipment, radio transmission equipment and other related network interconnection equipment such as phones, faxes, routers, etc.

All products identified within the product catalogue for the NAL are subject to mandatory conformity assessment, including testing of equipment at a designated laboratory in China, trial testing in China and inspection of the manufacturing site.

The EU SME Centre has produced a Network Access Licence guideline summarising the requirements and describing the application process to obtain the licence.
